My old life: freedom or just the illusion of it?
There was a time when I thought I was free. Self-employed, independent, a free spirit who could afford anything. In my busiest year, I flew abroad 13 times—constantly on the go. From the outside, my life looked successful. But inside, I felt restless and driven.
I was searching for depth. I attended two silent retreats, which showed me how beneficial silence can be. For a few days, I felt inner peace—but back home, my old patterns caught up with me. Overthinking, self-sabotage, and a quiet feeling of loneliness.
The dark times: Stagnation and a new beginning
Then came a phase that pushed me to my limits. A dark period lasting over four years. Thanks to my self-employment, I was able to take some time off—planned to be short, but in the end it turned out to be much longer. It was a time of emptiness, but also a time when a new path opened up.
My current partner was by my side. (Together we delved deeper into spirituality, asked questions, and explored body, mind, and soul).
He also brought me closer to something: his method of ultra slow training.
My path to the mat: Ultra Slow Training as the key
I gave it a try. Hesitantly at first. I found it difficult to be consistent. I asked myself, “Do I really need this?”
But this training kept drawing me back to the mat.
It was unlike anything I had ever experienced before. No huge time commitment, no endless repetitions, no noise and showing off—just present, ultra-slow movements that forced me to be in my body. …mind?
Bit by bit, I learned to express myself in a new way through this type of movement.
Very quickly, I noticed the first changes:
My head became clearer.
I felt inner peace.
My body became stronger—in a new, sustainable way.
From workout to workout, it became clearer to me: THIS IS IT.
Arriving: What I was looking for was already there.
On the mat.
In the method.
And within me.
The Master Your Journey training showed me:
Arrival begins when you/I learn to become still.
Strength comes not from more, but from less—from greater awareness.
Freedom is not a place out there. Freedom is a state within you/me.
MASTER YOUR JOURNEY has changed my life.
